The enlightened congressman, Allen West, articulates this summary of our political platform over at the Blaze, which never fails to do us a favor by reporting half the story.
According to West,
“…the Democratic appetite for ever-increasing redistributionary handouts is in fact the most insidious form of slavery remaining in the world today
The more they come to rely on government checks, the less they learn to rely on their own ability and ingenuity.
He calls our system a “21st century plantation”. If he understood that the 52% of slaves who are living on government handouts are paid by the 48% of slaves who toil for wages to pay the handouts, I’d have to say that he articulated 100% of our awesome platform. And the misnomer “21st century plantation” should be corrected to the “21st Century Plan”, the “21st Century Agenda”, or “Agenda 21” to fully suit my taste.
With only half enlightenment, it is easy to see how he stumbles on the misconception that “the Republican value of minimizing government dependence is particularly beneficial to the poorest among us”, as though our fellow Republicans believed in any such thing as minimizing government.
Mr. West, by the definition of conservatism, Republicans are for exactly everything the Democrats are for, except at a slower pace. The two parties are two sides of the same coin, LOL! Well, that is how we keep the dissenters in check, making them toil in our bi-partisan system under the illusion that they can possibly change our relentless onward march to totalitarianism!
You do have to laugh at his usage of the “redistributionist” language, though. Who would have ever thought we could have gotten away with the corruption of the English language the way we have? Our cunning linguists have done a fantastic job.
